We have established Welch Mechanical Designs to provide high-quality system designs customized to meet the specific needs of each client. We strive to create these designs at a lower cost and more efficiently than our competitors. Currently, we specialize in optic and electronic packaging for the remote-sensing R&D community as well as the telecommunications industry. We have significant experience in designing rugged-mounting systems for fiber optics. For each project, our goal is to understand the system as a whole and create the best possible design.

Our unique experiences from working in a research community such as NASA and on high-production volume telecommunication projects make us well prepared to tackle any project.

As part of our services, we can provide the following:

• Detailed mechanical design, using leading solid modeling and 2-D drawing software packages
• Design analysis to predict system performance

Our fabrication sources are capable of:

• Milling volumes up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) high x 8 feet (2.4 meters) long x 4 feet (1.2 meters) wide
• Turning of small pieces, less than .39-inch (10-millimeter) diameter, with micron tolerances in small or large quantities
• Milling tolerances in the low microns
• Wire EDM to depths of 18 inches (45 centimeters) in aluminum
• Lathe turning of up to 9-foot (2.7-meter) diameter components
• CNC sheetmetal bending and punches
• Welding to the latest MIL-SPEC's
• Metal coating to latest MIL-SPEC's
