CNC Machinist

Job Description:
Custom engineering design and manufacturing company in Harford County, MD is seeking Precision CNC Machinists. This will have a base annual pay range of $45k — 60k and an excellent benefits package including a pension (no, not a 401k, a real pension), health insurance, tuition reimbursement and more.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate, program, and set up CNC and manual lathes and mills, primarily HAAS in 3 and 4 axis configurations
- Program tool paths using commercial CAM software, both 2D profile and 3D surfaces
- Machine parts using drawings and sketches
- Inspect parts using conventional inspection equipment and CMM
- Design and manufacture of tooling and fixtures for use in manufacture of parts
- Handle, clean and package completed parts
- Operate PC running windows computers for CAM software, email, web browsing, word processing and spreadsheets
- Communicate with engineers and customers verbally and written
- Maintain and troubleshoot machines
Education and Experience:
- Experience operating, programming, setting up and maintaining HAAS and Mori Seiki machines
- High School graduation or equivalent required
- Trade school, apprenticeship, college training or any other formal secondary education a plus
- At least 4 years experience with precision machining
- Familiar with high precision tolerances
- Feature sizes up to 16 inches held to +/-.0002 inches
- Experience in an environment producing complex parts in low volume quantities rapidly and efficiently
- Familiar with high precision inspection tools and techniques
- Experience with ferrous, non-ferrous, and polymer materials machining
- Experience with large and small machined parts
- Experience with maintenance and trouble shooting of HAAS machines a plus
- Experience with Single Point Diamond Turning is a MAJOR PLUS!!!
